Ranking by the consultancy Global Citizen Solutions, Portugal is the seventh best destination for digital nomads, praised for its high quality of life and low cost of living, according to a new international study. A total of 65 countries are evaluated. The study evaluated 65 countries, considering factors such as living costs, quality of life, economic environment, and special programs for remote workers.
Portugal stands out particularly in the quality of life and economy sub-indices. Being the cheapest country in Western Europe, with English being widely spoken throughout the country. The D7 and D8 visas count for access to permanent residence and citizenship, says the consultancy.
This new ranking joins others, such as that of the Nomadlist platform, which on July 30th ranked Lisbon as the seventh best city for digital nomads and Porto in 19th place. In addition, in July, Portugal also came 15th position in the Expat Insider 2024 survey, which evaluates the best countries for people living abroad.
